All the conflicts started and took place in Sudan (2003). The major parties involved were Sudanese government troops and rebel groups in Darfur, and also groups in North and South Sudan. In 2003 genocidal conflicts started, in which Sudan directed its troops and militias to destroy villagers and civilians. There are still many big conflicts going on in Sudan today. The government is letting all the ethic groups do whatever they want and kill anyone in their path. Another big problem in Sudan is the proliferation of rebel groups who have begun to recruit child soldiers. The Sudanese government expulsion of 13 international aid groups in March 2009 has not helped the situation. Lastly, there were strained relations between North and South Sudan, and intertribal violence. The conflict is very serious. At least 200,000 people have died, and 250,000 have crossed the border into Chad. At the present there are two large peace keeping missions, UNAMID and UNIM helping to solve the conflict.
